Mr Travis Ackermann

Mr Travis Ackermann is a specialist Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and General Surgeon with expertise in advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic/keyhole) and open techniques.

After obtaining his degree in Biomedical Science (Bsc. Hon) at Victoria University, Mr Ackermann completed his medical studies at the Australian National University (MBBS Hon). He returned to Melbourne and in 2017 was awarded his FRACS after finishing his General Surgery training at Monash Health. A further three years of postgraduate fellowship training followed, at the Canberra Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide through the Australian & New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic & Biliary Association (ANZHPBA) training programme. In addition, Mr Ackermann has pursued his interests further in minimally invasive surgery through a number of international workshops in Tokyo, Japan and Strasbourg, France.

Currently, Mr Ackermann has appointments with Monash and Bass Coast Health performing HPB and General Surgery and consults in Berwick, Narre Warren and at Bass Coast Health. In addition to operating at Wonthaggi, Casey, Dandenong and Monash Clayton public hospitals he also has private lists at Jessie McPherson, Mulgrave and St John of God Berwick. Mr Ackermann is passionate about education and research and has published several articles in both HPB and General Surgery. He is also involved in the surgical teaching of medical undergraduates, junior medical staff and surgical trainees.
